"What I particularly like about Solveig Herrström's photographs is this light and this very special Swedish atmosphere that we don't know in France."

Stephanie Peyrissac

Sweden, her home country where she has spent all her holidays since childhood, forms the foundation of her imagination and aesthetic. This Scandinavian influence, visible through light, landscapes, design, and cinema, forms the leitmotif of her photographs.

Light, this first aesthetic emotion, guides his entire creative process as

the quest for a nostalgic beauty. His images often flirt with a certain obsolescence, a strangely vibrant beauty from another time.

His photographs oscillate between the instinctive capture of the moment and stagings composed like paintings or cinema shots, two of his inspirations including

it draws a large part of its visual language.

Solveig's work explores our relationship to Time and Reality. Her photographs blend different eras and blur temporal markers, like a jumble of

time to project ourselves out of it, into an eternal setting.
