“I have been following Jean Letellier’s photographic work for several years.
His photographs, taken with a Leica or a Mamiya, two extremely delicate and demanding cameras, have an exceptional rendering of light and detail. The empty and silent scenes allow everyone to tell a story or simply remember a moment in their life.

Jean Letellier photographer
In 1994, after graduating from Parsons School in New York, Jean Letellier returned to Paris, where he began experimenting with various media, such as graphic design, collage, mixed media, and black-and-white photography. Photography soon became his sole tool. His projects are orchestrated as inventories of his daily reality and surroundings. Imbued with nostalgia and melancholy, his subtle gaze records minor stories and innocuous objects. He defines himself as a "photographer working on an inventory," closely following the methodology and research of, for example, photographers from the Düsseldorf School and others. He has participated in various group exhibitions and fairs such as FOTOFEVER (2013) in Paris, Collection Stéphanie Peyrissac, Galerie ROBIN (2015), and has self-published the following books: White Book (2014), Serious Books 1 and 2 (2015) and Dialogues (2015). In 2017, he moved to Barcelona, where he co-founded MECÀNIC, a space dedicated to photography.
